Understanding CBD, where it comes from, and how to take it can be confusing. That’s why, at Green Wellness Life, we’re committed to making sure that our customers are educated about the products they’re purchasing. This week and next week, our blog post will be dedicated to discussing the difference between two of the primary options in the world of CBD oil: raw CBD (CBDa) and isolate.
CBD Facts: Raw CBD + CBDa
While our focus at Green Wellness Life is primarily cannabidiol (CBD,) the hemp plant has multiple compounds, known as phytocannabinoids, that interact with the body in different ways. When CBD is first extracted from the plant, it is in its most raw form, also known as CBDa. The little “a” at the end simply means that it’s the acidic version of CBD. This phytocannabinoid has undergone minimal processing and is as close as we can get to that plant growing in the ground.
While the CBD compound is known as a neutralizer, helping to bring your endocannabinoid system back into balance, CBDa is coming to be known for its anti-inflammatory and pain-binding properties, according to some initial, tentative research. That’s why these raw, full-spectrum CBD products can be the right choice for those looking for that “entourage effect,” which is believed to happen when the phytocannabinoids and terpenes naturally found in the plant all work together in the body.
If you want to give raw CBD a try, it doesn’t have to be as intimidating as it might sound! We offer several brands that specialize in a variety of ways to incorporate this less processed CBD into your daily routine:
1. Raw Oil Extract
This product is as close to the original hemp plant and all its benefits as you can get. With only enough processing to create a paste that’s safe for consumption, this extract still contains both CBD and CBDa. With no added ingredients, like a carrier oil, the syringe makes it easier to take the small, recommended rice-size serving.
Sizes: 1g, 3g, 10g
CBD Strength: 12% – 18% CBD/CBDa
Decarboxylated: No
Filtered: No
2. Plus CBD Oil
We’re now offering a new product by Plus CBD Oil. These Plus CBD Oil Raw Drops offer the benefit of full-spectrum, CO2 extracted CBD and CBDa in four convenient options:
- Unflavored – 100mg CBD+CBDa OR Unflavored – 500mg CBD+CBDa
- Peppermint – 100mg CBD+CBDa OR Peppermint – 500mg CBD+CBDa
The 30mL/100mg CBD+CBDa bottles provide 80 half-dropper servings, with 11mg hemp oil and 1mg CBD+CBDa in each. The 60mL/500mg CBD+CBDa bottles include 160 half-dropper servings, with 33mg hemp oil and 3mg CBD+CBDa in each. All four options are Non-GMO, Gluten Free, and Vegetarian!
3. Endoca Raw Hemp Oil
The Endoca brand offers raw, unflavored drops and capsules in a 300mg CBD+CBDa and 1500mg CBD+CBDa concentration. We’ve featured the 300mg option here because it’s a great price point for a raw product – only about a dollar a day!
Endoca Raw Hemp Oil Capsules are made from 100% plant ingredients and contain no animal by-products, preservatives, artificial colors, starch, sugar, corn, wheat or dairy. Endoca creates these capsules with unfiltered first extract hemp oil. The CO2 extraction process results in a thick, waxy blend of CBD+CBDa.
The CBD oil extract in the Endoca Hemp Oil Drops has up to 50% concentration of pure CBD that comes both from the cannabidiol oil and hemp seed oil. Endoca Hemp Raw Oil drops are truly full-spectrum extract with synergistic terpenes and other natural constituents of the hemp oil.
4. Tasty Hemp Oil
Tasty Drops are one of the best starting points for anyone looking to try CBD oil, with the added bonus of having a raw, CBD+CBDa base! If you’re sensitive to the strong taste of pure hemp oil, the lightly-flavored Tasty CBD Drops by Tasty Hemp Oil might be right for you. Available in Berry, Spearmint, or Vanilla, these drops have pleasant aromas and successfully counter that earthy taste.
If you think a capsule is right for you, the Tasty Hemp Oil Softgels are virtually tasteless and gentle on your palate. Because they’re full-spectrum, these softgels are convenient and the ideal way to get your omega-3, omega-6, vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, and 15mg CBD+CBDa per capsule.
Stay tuned next week to learn about CBD in its isolate form!
